Why blogs aren’t as important as they used to be.

Remember back, oh… six or so years ago?

Everyone had a blog. Every single person on the face of the planet has a WordPress, Movable Type, Livejournal, Blogger, etc etc… and now no one does.

Social networks have killed blogging. Simple as that. Most of the little things we posted on our blogs, we can now use Twitter and Facebook and cast a wider net. So why blog?

This year, I’ve decided to change my thinking about blogging. It’s something I’ve long enjoyed, but never get around to. So those little things, you’ll see on facebook and twitter, but you’ll start to see more and more long format things here.

I’ve noticed that when listening to the Long Version of Blondie’s Call Me, that a section right around 5:26 thru 6:20 seems to heavily reference the Doctor Who theme. It’s a section that is completely missing from the single version.

You have to admit that a song called “Call Me” would make sense for a man who hangs out in one of these:

I’m slowly bringing in some older posts and have migrated, at least temporarily, to WordPress. We’ll see how it goes.

I’ve let Malbela lie fallow for awhile, thus losing at least one of the two readers I had. So… if you’re still here…

WTF, dude?

More later.

Oh… and Happy Birthday, Chuck!
